Classes
on the Iowa Communications Network (ICN)
If Iowa State classes on campus are canceled due to
severe weather, all ICN classes are also canceled.
Even
if Iowa State is open, the host institution where you go
for ICN classes may be closed. If Iowa State has classes
but your host institution is closed, you will be given a
videotape of the class session. Notify your instructor or
ISU Continuing Education, dlcourses@iastate.edu,
to receive a tape.
Listen
to your local radio station before traveling to sites when
weather conditions are questionable.
Classes
at DMACC, Ankeny
If the Ankeny DMACC campus closes, Iowa State classes
at DMACC are canceled. Announcements are made by 4 p.m.
for evening classes and by 6 a.m. for Saturday classes.
Announcements are broadcast on
television stations KCCI,
WHO, and WOI
and
radio stations including KGGO,
KIOA, KMXD,
KSTZ, and WHO.
Classes
on the Iowa State campus in Ames
When classes are canceled, the news is immediately posted
on the Iowa State University home page, www.iastate.edu,
and relayed to central Iowa media.
Conferences
on the Iowa State campus in Ames
Call Continuing Education, (800) 262-0015, if you're uncertain
whether a conference will be held.
Offices
at Iowa State
Even if classes are canceled, the university generally remains
open. Faculty and staff who can get to campus are at work.
If the university closes, only staff in critical areas,
such as security, is at work.
