GRADUATE CERTIFICATES ARE FLEXIBLE OPTION
Certificate programs are today's mini master's degrees.
A certificate program is often four to six graduate courses
that give you expertise in a specialized area. A certificate
can prepare you for new opportunities in your field or a
new career. In many cases, you may use the certificate courses
towards a master's if you later decide to pursue one.
Iowa State University has 12 distance learning certificates
including a new one in human computer interaction. Other
certificates are in information assurance, engineering,
family financial planning, gerontology, dietetics, public
management, and school superintendent license preparation.
Check out the possibilities on the degree and certificate
site, http://www.lifelearner.iastate.edu/degree.htm.

PUBLICATION HAS SUN SAFETY TIPS
With spring's arrival it's time to think about protecting
your skin from the sun's damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Check out the publication Pm 1916, How shady is your t-shirt?
for information that can help you reduce your exposure.
One tip: Washing your clothes in a detergent with whitening
and brightening agents can improve fabrics' ability to block
out UV rays.
