The
program will
--increase your knowledge about information infrastructure
security,
--expand and develop your engineering abilities,
--nurture and instill the ethics involved in technology,
and
--help you develop and understand strategy and policy issues.
The
Master of Science in Information Assurance is a multidisciplinary
program supported by six academic departments in three Iowa
State colleges. The departments are computer science; electrical
and computer engineering; industrial and manufacturing systems
engineering; logistics, operations and management information
systems; mathematics; and political science.
Faculty
members work in Iowa State's Information Assurance Center
to explore the problems of securing information in application
areas ranging from software to networks to electronic democracy.
The
graduate program is for those who have a bachelor of science
in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely
related field. The master's program is supported by six
academic departments at Iowa State. The home department
for distance learning is computer engineering. The master's
program is 30 credits including 3 credits of creative component.
Certificate
in
Information Assurance
The program was launched in fall 2001. It is designed to
meet the needs of information system security specialists
in government, the private sector, and educational institutions.
The
certificate is four computer engineering courses.
