Biochemistry I
Course: Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biolgoy (BBMB) 404, XC, XW
A general overview of the chemistry of amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids; structural properties of proteins, nucleic acids, and membranes; enzymology; and selected aspects of carbohydrate metabolism. Appropriate for graduate and advanced undergraduate students in agricultural, biological, chemical, and nutritional sciences. For a complete survey of biochemistry, students should take BBMB 405 after completing this course.
Required Courses:
Chemistry 332 (Organic Chemistry) or similar two-semester organic chemistry course.
