Course: Political Science (Pol S) 534
Survey of legal and ethical issues in information assurance.
Topics include freedom of expression in cyberspace, privacy,
intellectual property right, software reliability and liability,
cyber crimes, cyber security, and electronic forensics.
Each topic will be illustrated with real and/or hypothetical
cases to develop an appreciation for the complexity of issues.
Prerequisite: bachelor's degree

Examine theories of leadership and best management practices
selected from public sector organizations. Appreciate the
difficult challenges todays public managers face and
hone your skills to lead, particularly the street-level
bureaucracy by studying focused literature, case studies,
and class workshops. Core competencies emphasized include
organizational decision-making, management of information
technology, crisis management, project management, negotiation
skills, communication and public relations skills, organizational
change, and leadership training.
