Course
prerequisites
A prerequisite indicates the specific academic background
or general academic maturity considered necessary to take
the course. Permission of the instructor is understood to
be an alternate to the stated prerequisites in all courses.
An instructor has the prerogative to direct a student who
lacks a stated prerequisite to drop the course.
It
is university policy that the instructor shall inform the
students at the beginning of each course if students who
have not met the prerequisite requirements must drop the
course. Course prerequisites are listed with each course.
If you need the description of a course listed as a prerequisite,
use the ISU course
information Web site.
Auditing
Auditing
a course is enrolling in the course without receiving credit.
Tuition is charged as if you were taking the course for
credit.
The course instructor must approve the audit.
You
must register to audit the course by the 10th day of the
semester. Audited courses do not count in determining full-time
or part-time student status, and do not apply toward Veterans
Administration benefits. Audits are not recorded on your
permanent record except by special request.
Videotaping/audiotaping
classes
Courses may be videotaped for various
reasons, including distance learning. Instructors may audiotape
courses for personal reasons. Audiotapes may be made to
accommodate a students disability. You may not record
and/or reproduce audiotapes of classes without the instructors
permission.
If you miss an ICN session which originated on campus and
want a videotape, you must obtain permission from the instructor
and pay for the tape, duplication costs, handling and shipping.
The master tapes are erased approximately two weeks after
the session.
