Introduction to the Human Body
Course: Biology (BIO) 155, XW

A survey course of the human body including principal structures and functions of the body systems and the diseases and disorders associated with them. Designed to meet general education requirements in natural science. This course is recommended for educators and social scientists interested in personal health science. The course may also be an excellent primer for students in the physical sciences who are interested in human biology. It is not recommended for those seeking a career in the allied health professions or for students majoring in any life science.
Required Courses: high school biology and chemistry or biology 101 (Introductory Biology)

Aquatic Ecology
Course: Biology (BIOL) 486, XW

Structure and function of aquatic ecosystems with application to fishery and pollution problems. Emphasis on the comparative analysis of aquatic ecosystems, examining lakes, ponds, wetlands, streams, rivers, and estuaries. Lectures will acquaint students with the current state of knowledge in the aquatic sciences.
